Key Responsibilities: Database Administration: Perform comprehensive database administration tasks for SQL Server (2014-2019) and Oracle (version 19, including Exadata), covering: Installation, configuration, and patching of database servers. User access management and security hardening. Implementing and managing robust backup and recovery strategies. Proactive database monitoring and performance tuning to ensure optimal system health. Monitoring and managing database space utilization. Executing database migrations and upgrades. Setting up and managing database mirroring and other high-availability solutions. Implementing and managing database partitioning for performance and data lifecycle management. Database Design: Apply strong knowledge of logical and physical database design principles, including effective use of DDL (Data Definition Language) constructs. Troubleshooting & Support: Provide expert troubleshooting and resolution for database-related issues, demonstrating strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Manage and respond to database incidents and requests through a ticketing system. Monitoring & Performance: Utilize database monitoring tools such as OEM, Idera, or other relevant platforms to proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks and potential issues. Automation: Develop and implement automation scripts using PowerShell or other programming languages for SQL Server installations, routine database tasks, and process optimization. Cloud Database Management: Contribute to the management and optimization of database solutions within cloud environments (Azure, AWS). Qualifications: Extensive experience with SQL Server (2014-2019) database administration. Demonstrated experience with Oracle version 19, including Exadata environments. Proven expertise in database administration tasks: installation, configuration, user access management, backup/recovery, monitoring, performance tuning, space utilization, DB migration, DB mirroring, and partitioning. Strong understanding of logical and physical database design activities and DDL constructs. Experience with ticketing management systems for incident and request handling. Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail. Proficiency with database monitoring tools such as OEM, Idera, or similar. Experience in scripting for automation (e.g., PowerShell). Familiarity with cloud database management concepts and experience with Azure or AWS.
