Database Administrator, Snowflake

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Snowflake Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. As a Snowflake DBA, you will be responsible for the administration, management, and optimization of our Snowflake data platform. Your expertise in database design, performance tuning, security, and data governance within the Snowflake environment will be crucial for this role. Your key responsibilities will include administering and managing Snowflake cloud data warehouse environments, implementing security policies and access controls, managing Snowflake accounts and databases in a multi-tenant environment, monitoring systems for high availability and reliability, managing Snowflake costs, collaborating with various teams for efficient data integration, automating database management tasks for operational efficiency, staying updated with the latest Snowflake features and best practices, developing and maintaining documentation, and supporting disaster recovery and business continuity planning. To be successful in this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, along with at least 5 years of experience in Snowflake operations and administration. Proficiency in SQL, query optimization, and performance tuning techniques is required, as well as experience in managing security, access controls, and data governance in Snowflake. Familiarity with AWS, proficiency in Python or Bash, experience in automating database tasks using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation, and an understanding of data modeling concepts are also essential. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, excellent communication, and collaboration abilities are key attributes we are looking for. Preferred qualifications include Snowflake certification, experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for database management, knowledge of machine learning and analytics workflows within Snowflake, and hands-on experience with data streaming technologies like Kafka or AWS Kinesis.
