You are an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with development expertise sought by the company to manage, optimize, and fine-tune databases for high performance and scalability. Your role involves working on query optimization, performance tuning, high availability & disaster recovery (HADR), data migration, and log shipping, while also utilizing hands-on database development skills. Key Responsibilities - Fine-tune and optimize queries to enhance performance and efficiency. - Perform indexing, partitioning, and query execution analysis for improved database performance. - Ensure high availability, disaster recovery (HADR), log shipping, replication, and failover clustering. - Conduct database migrations and upgrades with minimal downtime. - Implement backup, restore, and recovery strategies to prevent data loss. - Monitor and troubleshoot database performance, locks, deadlocks, and slow queries. - Collaborate with developers to enhance database schema design and best practices. - Automate database maintenance tasks using SQL scripts and automation tools. - Ensure database security, access control, and compliance with industry standards. - Stay informed about the latest database technologies, tools, and trends. Required Skills & Qualifications - 5+ years of experience as a DBA with SQL development expertise. - Strong proficiency in query optimization, performance tuning, and indexing strategies. - Hands-on experience with HADR, log shipping, replication, and disaster recovery planning. - Experience in data migration, backup, and restoration across different environments. - Proficient in database engines like MSSQL. - Strong understanding of stored procedures, triggers, views, and functions. - Experience with ETL processes and data integration. - Familiarity with monitoring tools such as SQL Profiler, Performance Monitor, DMVs. - Knowledge of cloud-based database solutions like AWS RDS, Azure SQL. - Ability to collaborate effectively with development teams to optimize database queries.
