Job Description

A Data Lakehouse Database Administrator is responsible for managing the databases within a data lake environment, ensuring their performance, integrity, and security. They design, implement, and optimize these databases, which may include storage, databases, and compute warehousing solutions. This role also involves ensuring efficient data ingestion, transformation, and security within the data lake. The MySQL DBA will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical MySQL RDBMS systems, to ensure the availability and consistent performance of our corporate applications. This is a hands-on” position requiring solid technical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills. JOB FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES: We are looking for a Data Lakehouse and MySQL database administrator who will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security. You will also be responsible for orchestrating upgrades, backups, and provisioning of database instances. You will also work in tandem with the other teams, preparing documentations and specifications as required. MySQL Heatwave, MS SQL Server, JavaScript, Redshift, Athena will be added advantage for the role. QUALIFICATION: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience: Required: Bachelor’s degree is preferred IT & Database Administration knowledge in Data Lakehouse and MySQL database administrator Personable and enjoy interacting with others Good problem-solving skills: Ability to visualize a problem or situation and think abstractly to solve it Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a keep ability to listen and question Fluent English skills
