Database Administrator (DBA)

Role Overview: You will be responsible for the availability, performance, integrity, and security of databases, primarily working with Postgres on Linux and other community RDBMS/NoSQL platforms. Your role will involve planning, designing, developing databases, along with operational support, and troubleshooting/resolution of any issues. Key Responsibilities: - Installation, administration, operations, support, maintenance, monitoring & upgrading of database servers to ensure availability, security, and optimal performance - Enforcing organization standards to maintain the quality of service - Performing query optimization and assisting stakeholders in writing complex queries, stored procedures/functions, views, DDL/DML scripts - Timely troubleshooting of complex database issues to ensure compliance with SLAs / OLAs - Establishing and maintaining database operational, disaster recovery, backup procedures/processes for continuous availability and quick recovery Qualification Required: - 5+ years of Database Management experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle Databases in Linux environments - Strong understanding of Database platforms and their internal engine, storage & memory architecture/processes - Familiarity with enterprise-level mission-critical databases of considerable size 2+ TBs - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Pleasant & flexible personality with willingness to work in flexible shift timings - Quick learner, initiative taker, enthusiastic, determined, and hard worker - Excellent analytical and communication/soft skills - Experience in MPP technologies such as Netezza or Teradata will be beneficial - Experience with Cloud platforms/technologies and programming languages will be advantageous Additional Details: Uplers is a leading US-based digital consultancy known for its excellence in the industry.
