Job Description

As a Database Administration Specialist at NTT DATA, you will play a crucial role in the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server RDBMS systems. Your expertise will ensure the availability and consistent performance of client applications, making you an essential part of our team in India. Your responsibilities will include managing SQL Server databases across various lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems. You will configure and maintain database servers and processes, monitor system health and performance, and prioritize high levels of performance, availability, and security. Database performance tuning, planning, deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting high-availability database environments will be key tasks that you will handle independently. You will be expected to analyze, solve, and resolve issues in real-time, ensuring end-to-end problem resolution. Additionally, you will refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes to enhance efficiency and cost optimization. Providing 24x7 support for critical production systems and performing scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours will be part of your routine. Collaboration is essential in this role, as you will share your domain and technical expertise, provide technical mentorship, and engage in cross-training with other team members and peers. Direct interaction with end customers, business stakeholders, and technical resources will be required, emphasizing the importance of excellent written and verbal communication skills and problem-solving abilities. To excel in this position, you should have at least 6 years of experience in SQL Server 2008/2012/Above versions in database administration within an enterprise environment with multiple database servers. Your expertise in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), backups, restores, recovery models, incident and problem queue management, and High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server will be highly valued. Furthermore, proficiency in working with Windows server, including Active Directory, and possessing excellent ITIL foundation, Continual Service Improvement, and Total Quality Management experiences are essential. While not mandatory, experience with scripting, SSIS, SSRS, T-SQL, MCTS, MCITP, and/or MVP certifications are considered beneficial. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent is preferred for this role. Your flexibility, team-player attitude, ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and adaptability to a rapidly changing environment will contribute to your success as a Database Administration Specialist at NTT DATA.,
