Introduction to the Team
The Hotel Initiatives Analytics team partners closely with Supply Strategy to anticipate demand patterns and optimize our marketplace, ensuring travelers find the most relevant hotel options. We collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, size, and implement opportunities that improve supply in terms of inventory, promotions, and competitiveness.
Our work combines advanced analytics with impactful data storytelling, including designing and enhancing top-tier Tableau visualizations that empower decision-making across Expedia Group.
In this role, you will:
Lead strategic initiatives to anticipate demand patterns and optimize marketplace relevancy.
Develop sophisticated analytical models to drive decision-making and interpret key business trends.
Create, improve, and optimize advanced Tableau visualizations to deliver actionable insights to leadership and Account Management teams.
Become a trusted, data-driven advisor by developing deep knowledge of relevant data sources and business intelligence.
Communicate strategic recommendations clearly and concisely to stakeholders and leadership.
Build strong relationships with Analytics, Account Management, Brands, and Strategy & Transformation teams, proactively engaging on project needs and progress.
Identify and implement opportunities to improve supply in terms of inventory, promotions, and competitiveness.
Demonstrate a proactive mindset, striving for continuous process improvement and proposing innovative solutions.
Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Mathematics, Hotel Management, Business, or a related technical field or equivalent experience.
5+ years of analytical experience, including SQL database querying and proficiency with tools such as Tableau, Excel, R, Python, or equivalents.
Strong understanding of advanced statistical and predictive modeling techniques.
Excellent problem-solving skills, intellectual curiosity, and self-motivation.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear and impactful presentations.
