Data Scientist - Demand Forecasting

You should possess a Bachelors or Masters in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, or a related field. Along with this, you should have 4-5 years of experience in a data scientist or forecasting/analytics role, preferably in retail, QSR, FMCG, manufacturing, or similar industries. Your strong practical experience should include Time series forecasting techniques such as ARIMA/SARIMA, Exponential Smoothing, and Prophet. You should also have experience working with Machine Learning models like XGBoost/LightGBM, Random Forest, and neural networks specifically for time series data. Proficiency in Python libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn, statsmodels, and Prophet is necessary, and SQL experience would be an added advantage. Experience with feature engineering for forecasting models, including the incorporation of holiday/event calendars and external datasets, is required. Additionally, familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, PowerBI, matplotlib, and seaborn is important for this role. You should have strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate business requirements into analytical solutions.
