Data Modeler

As a Data Modeler at Johnson Controls, you will play a crucial role in the Data Architecture team located in India, reporting to the Lead Technical Architect. Your responsibilities will include assessing potential data sources, developing blueprints for data integration, centralization, and protection, as well as creating and maintaining data models for the enterprise. You will collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to define the vision, mission, and strategy for business data models on a global scale. Additionally, you will mentor and guide technical project teams, provide technical leadership for analytics projects, and ensure deliverables meet JCI standards. You will work closely with stakeholders to architect, implement, and test Big Data-based analytical solutions from various sources. Your role will involve establishing and adhering to Enterprise Data Standards & Policies, creating logical and physical data models, and recommending solutions to enhance existing functional data models. You will translate business requirements into scalable data models, optimize and update models for new projects, and maintain metadata and data models. Furthermore, you will develop best practices for naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency and reusability of data models. The ideal candidate for this role holds a Bachelor's or Master's degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related discipline, along with 5+ years of hands-on experience in delivering analytics solutions on Azure data platform using ERWIN and other tools. You should have expertise in Snowflake, Hadoop, MPP Data platform, Azure Data Factory, Azure HDI, and open-source technologies. Strong documentation and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to lead and coach diverse global teams of data modelers. Key technology requirements include proficiency in ERWIN or other Data Modeling Tools, experience with Cloud Databases such as Snowflake and HIVE, familiarity with DevOps tools like GitHub and Azure DevOps, and expertise in ETL/ELT framework design and implementation. In addition to technical skills, you should possess strong leadership, organizational, and prioritization abilities, excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and business teams, and the capacity to influence individuals and teams effectively. Keeping abreast of trends, industry standards, and new technologies in the Data and Analytics space is crucial, as well as the capability to collaborate with global distributed teams.,
