Data Engineer

We are looking for a Data Engineer to transform data into valuable insights that inform business decisions, utilizing our internal data platforms and applying appropriate analytical techniques. You will be responsible for engineering reliable data pipelines for sourcing, processing, distributing, and storing data in different ways, effectively using data platform infrastructure. Additionally, you will develop, train, and apply machine-learning models to make better predictions, automate manual processes, and solve challenging business problems. Ensuring the quality, security, reliability, and compliance of our solutions by applying digital principles and implementing both functional and non-functional requirements is a key aspect of this role. You will also be involved in building observability into our solutions, monitoring production health, helping to resolve incidents, and remediating the root cause of risks and issues while understanding, representing, and advocating for client needs. The WMA Data Foundational Platforms & Services Crew is the fuel for the WMA CDIO, providing the foundational, disruptive, and modern platform and technologies. The mission is rooted in the value proposition of a shared, foundational platform across UBS to maximize business value. To be successful in this role, you should have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with 15+ years of experience in strong proficiency with Azure cloud services related to data and analytics (Azure SQL, Data Lake, Data Factory, Databricks, etc.). Experience with SQL and data modeling, as well as familiarity with NoSQL databases, is essential. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Scala, and knowledge of data warehousing and data lake concepts and technologies are also required.
