As a Data Engineer (Snowflake) - Senior Consultant at EY GDS Data and Analytics (D&A), your role involves designing, implementing, and managing Snowflake environments across major cloud platforms. Additionally, optimizing data models, queries, and algorithms for performance and cost efficiency, while ensuring adherence to best practices in data governance, security, and compliance, are crucial for success in this role. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design, implement, and manage Snowflake environments across major cloud platforms. - Develop and execute ETL processes, ensuring efficient and secure data flow into cloud-based services. - Collaborate with global teams to understand business objectives and deliver scalable solutions. - Optimize data models, queries, and algorithms for performance and cost efficiency. - Ensure adherence to best practices in data governance, security, and compliance. **Skills and Attributes for Success:** - Snowflake Expertise: 4+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake components (Virtual Warehouses, Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, Secure Views). - Data Engineering: Proven experience in building data pipelines, ingestion frameworks, and analytical solutions. - Cloud Proficiency: Strong knowledge of data migration and processing using cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP). - Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python or PySpark for automation and data manipulation. - Data Warehousing: Solid understanding of dimensional modeling and Snowflake-specific optimizations. - DevOps & CI/CD: Familiarity with deployment automation and version control practices. - SQL Mastery: Advanced SQL skills, including procedural SQL and query optimization. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering high-quality technical solutions. **Qualifications Required:** - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. - Primary Skills: 3+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake on any major cloud platform. - Secondary Skills: Proficiency in Python and experience with at least one ETL tool. - Preferred Domain Experience: Power & Utilities, Oil & Gas, or Manufacturing. - Certifications: Snowflake Data Engineer certification preferred. - Experience with Agile methodologies is a plus. - Excellent communication skills and ability to manage client relationships. - Self-motivated, proactive, and committed to software development best practices.
