Dance Teacher

Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Dance Teacher who is responsible for teaching dance techniques and styles to students, fostering their creativity, and nurturing their appreciation for the performing arts. This role involves planning and delivering engaging lessons, preparing students for performances, and contributing to the overall development of the school’s arts programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Lesson Planning and Instruction:

• Design and deliver dance lessons tailored to different age groups and skill levels.
• Teach various dance styles such as classical, contemporary, hip-hop, folk, or any other relevant genres as per the school curriculum.
• Ensure lessons promote creativity, confidence, and teamwork among students.

Performance Preparation:

• Choreograph and rehearse dance routines for school events, competitions, and annual performances.
• Collaborate with other teachers for interdisciplinary projects and performances.
• Guide students in refining techniques and stage presence for showcases.

Student Development:

• Identify and nurture the talent of individual students.
• Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their skills.
• Encourage participation in extracurricular dance activities and competitions.

Classroom Management:

• Maintain discipline in dance classes and ensure a safe learning environment.
• Promote respect and inclusivity among students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.

Administrative Duties:

• Maintain attendance and performance records for students.
• Prepare and submit lesson plans and progress reports as required by the school.
• Stay updated with new teaching techniques and integrate them into the curriculum.

Skills and Qualifications

• Expertise in various dance styles and techniques.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students.
• Proficiency in planning and organizing events or performances.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts, Dance, or a related field.
• Certification or diploma in dance is a plus.

Experience

• Two years of experience.
