Job Summary: We are looking for a highly skilled Solution Architect with deep domain knowledge in Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and Smart Metering to lead the design, integration, and delivery of smart grid solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in DLMS/COSEM , IS metering standards , communication protocols , and a strong grasp of system integration technologies such as APIs , FTP , and Apache Kafka . Experience in integrating MDM systems with platforms like billing systems , NFMS , MDAS , and CMRI is essential. What is the role about? Key Responsibilities: Architect and implement scalable AMI/Smart Metering solutions , ensuring seamless integration between meters, HES, MDMS, and enterprise systems. Lead integration of MDM platforms with: Utility billing/CRM systems National Feeder Monitoring System (NFMS) for feeder-level analytics MDAS (Meter Data Acquisition Systems) and CMRI tools SCADA and GIS platforms for end-to-end visibility Ensure compliance with DLMS/COSEM protocols , OBIS codes , and Indian Standards (IS 15959, IS 16444, IS 13779) . Design and manage communication infrastructure leveraging RF Mesh, GPRS/3G/4G, NB-IoT , and MQTT protocols. Develop robust integration strategies using: REST/SOAP APIs for real-time and on-demand services FTP/SFTP-based batch integrations Apache Kafka for event-driven data streaming and high-throughput messaging Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performance data exchanges. Define technical architectures, data flow diagrams, interface contracts, and system documentation. Drive system interoperability, performance tuning, cybersecurity, and compliance across the solution lifecycle. Preferred skills and qualifications Experience in large-scale AMI rollouts under RDSS/IPDS initiatives. Exposure to cloud-native architectures , edge computing , and real-time analytics . Familiarity with DevOps practices , CI/CD for utility IT/OT integration. You fit in with us, if… Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering , Computer Science, or related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in AMI/Smart Metering/Smart Grid projects. Strong knowledge of DLMS/COSEM , OBIS coding , and IS metering standards. Hands-on experience with HES and MDMS platforms and integration with: Billing/CRM systems NFMS, MDAS, CMRI GIS, SCADA, and energy management systems Practical expertise in communication technologies: RF Mesh, GPRS/3G/4G, NB-IoT MQTT, TCP/IP, FTP/SFTP Proficient in API integration (REST/SOAP), FTP-based workflows , and Apache Kafka for real-time streaming. Understanding of cybersecurity principles , secure data handling, and system reliability. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. This job is open to male/female/diverse. What is the role about? Key Responsibilities: Technical Knowledge: understanding of smart metering , AMI , Head-End Systems (HES) , Meter Data Management Systems (MDMS), Work force management (WFM) in daily support activities and daily data sanity for Non comm & never comm meters. Customer Issue Resolution: Serve as the first point of contact for customer-reported issues. Respond promptly and follow the defined escalation matrix to route unresolved issues to L2 support when necessary. Support Workflow Adherence: Work within established support workflows and processes, ensuring compliance with defined priorities and SLA timelines for efficient resolution. Ticketing Systems: Log, update, and track customer issues using tools such as Jira, Zoho Desk , or Freshdesk . Prior experience with these tools is an added advantage. Off-Hours Support: Be available for customer support outside of regular business hours as needed, coordinating with the support team to ensure timely issue resolution. Documentation & Reporting: Use MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook) effectively for communication, report generation, and documentation. Communication: Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills in English to interact effectively with customers and internal teams. On-Site Issue Resolution: Utilize the knowledge base to identify, diagnose, and resolve issues on-site, ensuring continuity of utility services with minimal disruption. Your Role at a Glance We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused L1 Support Engineer to provide first-level technical support in the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) domain. This role involves direct interaction with customers, on-site issue resolution, and coordination with higher-level support teams to ensure minimal disruption to utility services. Required skills and qualifications Required Skills: Basic knowledge of AMI systems and components (e.g., smart meters, communication networks, HES, MDMS). Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to issue resolution. Familiarity with customer support tools and issue tracking systems. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Willingness to travel or work on-site as per business needs. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications and working knowledge of at least one Computer Operating System.
