Job Description

Job Title: Credit Associate Customer Master File Reports to: Credit Manager/Supervisor Direct Reports: None Position Summary: The Credit Associate – Customer Master File is responsible for quickly and accurately setting up new customer accounts. This role includes verifying and maintaining critical customer data, ensuring proper documentation for sales tax exemptions, and running credit reports. The successful candidate will work closely with supervisors to ensure all necessary information is gathered and reviewed, maintaining the integrity and accuracy of customer records for audits. Key Responsibilities: Manage and maintain customer information, including financial, contact, and shipping details. Oversee sales tax exemptions and ensure all required documentation is in place and current. Process new customer credit applications and evaluate their eligibility. Collect necessary security documents from new customers. Set up accounts specific to branch requirements, ensuring accuracy. Update customer information (e.g., address, phone number, contacts) as needed. Coordinate changes to sales representatives as directed by General Manager (GM) or Regional Vice President (RVP). Verify business/legal customer information through the Secretary of State. Report credit results to the company’s insurance provider. Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders. Position Requirements: Strong initiative and self-starter mentality. Detail-oriented with the ability to notice inconsistencies and investigate them. Enjoy problem-solving from discovery through resolution. Collaborate with branch personnel and customers to set clear expectations for account setup. Open to asking questions and receiving feedback to improve performance. Able to step back and gain perspective in challenging situations. Respectful and positive communication with both customers and team members. Qualifications: Associate’s degree preferred. 2+ years of experience in credit analysis or data analysis, with a focus on accuracy in data entry (especially financial data). Proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUP and Pivot Table skills. Ability to type efficiently and accurately. Excellent grammar and written communication skills.
