Creature TD - CFX

As a Creature TD at Double Negative, you play a vital role in creating animation and simulation rigs for creatures, digital doubles, vehicles, and props. Your primary responsibility is to develop high-quality rigs and simulations that align with the production's requirements. Here's what you need to have and what would be nice to have: **Must Have:** - Minimum of 5 years" experience working on feature films / Feature Animation - Thorough knowledge of creature specialisation areas and a broad understanding of rigging and enveloping in Maya, cloth, hair, flesh, rigid body destruction, and crowd simulations - Proficiency in Maya and hands-on experience in Houdini - Comfortable with the technical aspects of creature work - Strong visual and artistic skills - Understanding of pipeline issues in a creature-heavy post-production environment **Nice to Have:** - Programming or scripting skills (e.g. Python, Mel) based on your specialisation - Interest in anatomy, tailoring, grooming, or mechanics related to your specialisation - Experience with Houdini Creature FX set-ups and simulation - Background as a General TD - Strong understanding of Linux/Unix based operating systems In addition to the required and preferred qualifications, you should also possess the following characteristics: - Organised, pro-active, and a self-starter - A team player with excellent communication skills - Adaptable and eager to learn new skills and techniques, including proprietary software - Calm under pressure and dedicated to meeting production deadlines - A positive, can-do attitude Please note that Double Negative is currently not hiring for the position of CFX Artist.
