Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and visionary Crane Subject Matter Expert (SME) to act as the Product Owner for our immersive VR-based crane training curriculum . This role bridges domain expertise with digital innovation shaping the development, accuracy, and real-world applicability of simulation-based training modules. The ideal candidate will have hands-on crane operations experience and a passion for advancing safety and skill development through technology. Key Responsibilities: Subject Matter Expertise Serve as the authoritative expert for crane operations, safety protocols, and industry standards within the training content. Provide detailed technical input on crane types, lifting procedures, rigging methods, load chart usage, and safety protocols to ensure training authenticity. Review and validate VR training storyboards, interactive scenarios, and assessment criteria for technical soundness. Ensure alignment with national and international regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, ASME, ISO, CPCS). Product Ownership Act as the voice of the end-user (trainees/operators) and ensure the training modules deliver maximum learning outcomes. Define learning objectives and key performance indicators for each VR training module. Collaborate with XR developers, instructional designers, and creative teams to drive feature development and prioritization. Own and manage the VR training curriculum roadmap, including release planning, iterations, and updates. Incorporate client feedback and industry trends to improve module effectiveness and scalability. Training & Quality Oversight Participate in pilot testing and UAT (User Acceptance Testing) of training modules with clients and internal teams. Guide the development of practical assessment frameworks and competency benchmarks. Support client discussions, demos, and documentation with domain authority when required. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Safety, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience). Recognized crane operation certification (e.g., NCCCO, CPCS) with at least 8 years of experience in crane operations and safety. Deep expertise in lifting plans, rigging, load chart interpretation, and crane operation standards. Strong understanding of industry-specific risks and compliance frameworks. Excellent communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in training, assessment design, or learning & development (especially in a safety or technical domain). Familiarity with VR/AR training environments or simulation-based learning tools. Exposure to software product development cycles, Agile/Scrum methodologies, or product management tools.
