As a Purchase Manager, your main responsibility will be to oversee and manage the purchasing of raw materials, packaging items, and indirect materials required for daily FMCG operations in Nagpur. It will be crucial for you to ensure timely procurement, cost efficiency, vendor compliance, and quality control. Your key responsibilities will include strategic sourcing and planning, where you will need to plan procurement activities in alignment with production and sales forecasts. You will also be required to develop cost-effective purchasing strategies to support business growth. Vendor management and negotiation will be another critical aspect of your role. You will need to identify, evaluate, and finalize vendors locally and nationally. Negotiating the best prices, terms, and contracts to drive value and savings will be essential. Regularly maintaining supplier scorecards and reviewing vendor performance will also be part of your duties. In terms of inventory and stock control, you will be responsible for monitoring stock levels in coordination with the store team. Ensuring uninterrupted supply while avoiding excess inventory will be key. You will also need to track lead times and adjust procurement plans accordingly. Compliance and quality control will be crucial areas where you will need to ensure adherence to internal quality, legal, and safety standards. Maintaining records such as Purchase Orders (POs), contracts, and reports will also fall under your purview. Cost monitoring and budget management will require you to track procurement costs and work towards cost reduction targets. It will be essential to ensure that all purchases stay within approved budgets. Cross-department coordination will also be a significant part of your role, as you will need to collaborate with Production, Finance, Quality, and Logistics teams. Supporting new product development (NPD) with procurement support will also be expected from you. Key skills required for this role include excellent negotiation and communication skills, strong knowledge of FMCG sourcing and vendor networks, ERP proficiency (SAP / Tally / Oracle preferred), an analytical and cost-conscious mindset, as well as strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities. Key performance indicators (KPIs) for this role will include % Cost Savings Achieved, Supplier On-Time Delivery (OTD), Inventory Turnover Ratio, Lead Time Reduction, Purchase Order Accuracy, as well as Compliance & Audit Scores.,
