As a Corporate Accountancy Manager at the Better Service Partnership of the London Boroughs of Richmond and Wandsworth, you will have the opportunity to lead and co-manage the Corporate Accountancy Team, contributing to the financial success and regulatory compliance of both councils. Your role will involve a mix of leadership, technical expertise, and strategic financial management. **Role Overview:** - As a Corporate Accountancy Manager, you will co-lead the Corporate Accountancy Team, actively participating in the closure of accounts for both councils and guiding the team through external audits. - You will work closely with the Director of Financial Management and the Chief Accountant to provide high-quality technical work year-round, supporting the development of the Senior Accountants. - Regulatory compliance and financial data accuracy are key aspects of this role, requiring strong analytical skills, effective communication, and a commitment to excellence. **Key Responsibilities:** - Lead the Corporate Accountancy Team in closing the accounts for both councils, including producing the Statement of Accounts. - Manage day-to-day responsibilities for capital accounting, financial accounting, treasury and cashflow management, asset accounting, and taxation. - Work closely with the Director of Financial Management and the Chief Accountant to ensure high-quality technical work year-round. - Comply with reporting requirements and financial regulations, utilizing your local authority accounting experience. **Qualifications Required:** - CCAB or equivalent qualified, or actively studying towards qualification with support available for completion. - Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with various stakeholders including Directors, Auditors, Service Managers, and Members. - Experience in a senior position within a Statement of Accounts close-down cycle. - Experience in capital or treasury within a local authority setting. - Ability to apply analytical skills and creative thinking to develop innovative system solutions. - Proficient IT skills for financial analysis and presentation to stakeholders.
