Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Prepare and cook daily meals (breakfast, lunch, evening snacks, and dinner) as per the weekly menu plan. Ensure all food is prepared hygienically and served on time. Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and utensils at all times. Manage grocery and kitchen inventory; notify the manager for stock replenishment. Minimize food wastage by proper planning and storage. Ensure dietary requirements and food allergies of residents are respected. Assist in developing new menu options occasionally, based on resident feedback. Comply with all safety and sanitation regulations. Requirements: Prior experience as a cook, preferably in a hostel or canteen setting. Knowledge of healthy and balanced meal preparation. Ability to cook for a large group (20–100 people, based on hostel capacity). Physically fit and capable of handling a busy kitchen environment. Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene. Trustworthy, punctual, and dependable. Preferred Qualifications: Minimum 8th-grade education or equivalent. Formal culinary training (not mandatory but a plus). Local language proficiency.
