Food Preparation: This includes tasks like washing, peeling, chopping vegetables and fruits, measuring ingredients, seasoning meats, and preparing basic salads and sauces. Following Recipes: Commi Firsts are expected to prepare dishes according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation standards. Hygiene and Sanitation: Maintaining cleanliness and ensuring proper sanitation of work stations and equipment is crucial. Food Safety: Understanding and adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations is essential. Inventory Management: Taking inventory of supplies, notifying supervisors of low stock, and discarding expired items are part of the role. Assisting Chefs: Providing support to more experienced chefs, including carrying out their instructions and assisting with various tasks. Plate Presentation: Ensuring that dishes are plated and presented according to standards. Teamwork: Collaborating with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient service.
