Role Overview
We are looking for a content writer who can think like a strategist, write like a storyteller, and operate like a producer. The ideal candidate is someone who doesnt just write scripts but builds narratives that perform someone who can spot emerging trends, decode what makes content work, and turn those insights into stories that move people.
This is a creative-operations hybrid role. Youll be scripting for Instagram and YouTube, managing the entire content lifecycle from idea to publication and collaborating with editors, filmmakers, and marketing teams to bring each piece of content to life. Youll be expected to move fluidly between writing, researching, coordinating, and analyzing.
Key Responsibilities
1. Scriptwriting and Creative Development
- Write compelling short-form and long-form scripts for Instagram reels, YouTube shorts, and full-length YouTube episodes.
- Develop creative hooks that capture attention in the first few seconds while maintaining narrative depth.
- Break down complex topics into simple, relatable, and emotionally resonant stories.
- Adapt writing style across formats — conversational for Instagram, structured and story-driven for YouTube.
- Partner with creative leads and subject experts to ensure content is credible and aligned with brand tonality.
- Maintain a deep understanding of storytelling craft — pacing, rhythm, dialogue, and structure.
2. Research and Trendspotting
- Constantly monitor Instagram, YouTube, and Reddit to identify new content trends, storytelling techniques, and cultural conversations.
- Conduct regular research on trending formats, creators, and communities relevant to our audience.
- Maintain a trend-tracker document highlighting emerging audio, memes, visual styles, and engagement tactics.
- Bring creative foresight — anticipate what’s next rather than reacting to what’s already viral.
- Analyze how mental health, productivity, relationships, and cultural topics are discussed online and find white spaces to create fresh, thoughtful takes.
3. Collaboration and Production
- Collaborate closely with editors, cinematographers, illustrators, and voice artists to translate scripts into finished videos.
- Create clear pre-production briefs — including script notes, visual direction, tone, and key emotion arcs.
- Manage communication between creative, technical, and marketing teams to ensure timely delivery and creative consistency.
- Participate in shoot planning, review footage, and provide creative feedback during post-production.
- Ensure each piece of content maintains the same level of quality — from storytelling to sound design and captioning.
4. Content Planning and Operations
- Maintain and update a structured content calendar across Instagram and YouTube.
- Build and document workflows for ideation, scripting, review, feedback, and publishing.
- Track the progress of multiple content pieces simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality.
- Coordinate approvals and iterations between internal teams and creative vendors.
- Ensure metadata, thumbnails, titles, and captions are optimized for platform-specific performance.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to align organic content with campaign goals and audience insights.
5. Performance and Optimization
- Track performance metrics across platforms — watch time, retention, saves, comments, shares, and audience drop-off rates.
- Study the analytics behind what worked and what didn’t, and translate those insights into actionable creative inputs.
