Key Responsibilities: Diagnose and manage acute and chronic kidney diseases, including glomerulonephritis, nephrotic syndrome, and polycystic kidney disease. Manage patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) and oversee dialysis treatments (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis). Monitor and treat complications related to kidney disorders, such as anemia, bone disease, and fluid/electrolyte imbalances. Evaluate and prepare patients for kidney transplantation and provide post-transplant care. Interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and kidney biopsies. Work closely with primary care physicians and other specialists (e.g., urologists, cardiologists, endocrinologists) to coordinate patient care. Educate patients on lifestyle changes, dietary requirements, and medication compliance to slow kidney disease progression. Maintain up-to-date and accurate patient records. Participate in on-call duties and manage nephrology emergencies.
