Description
As a Configuration Technician at AHEAD, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the proper application of customer-specific, order-specific, and hardware-specific software by following platform documentation, processes, and production defaults. Your responsibilities will include installing and configuring various operating systems on a wide range of hardware, creating and configuring RAID arrays, flashing custom BIOS and firmware into hardware, installing software images through an internal PXE environment, troubleshooting computer hardware issues, and communicating production problems with various departments. In this role, you will also be responsible for identifying and quarantining defective hardware, documenting deviations, defects, and quarantined systems to facilitate issue resolution and continuous process improvement. You will conduct diagnostic testing using third-party software such as PCDr or MemTest, as well as manufacturer software like Seatools. Additionally, you may be required to work extended hours during peak times to meet business needs. To qualify for this position, you should have a high school diploma or equivalent and 1-3 years of experience in the assembly manufacturing field. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and experience with computer hardware and various operating systems are desired, with Linux experience being preferred. You should be able to work well with others, demonstrate a strong work ethic, and lift up to 50 lbs. The ability to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines is essential, along with the flexibility to work additional hours and weekends when required.
