As a Tandoor Chef at our company, your role involves food preparation and cooking with a focus on tandoor items and Indian specialties. Your key responsibilities include: - Assisting in the preparation of tandoor masalas, marination, and mise-en-place. - Cooking tandoor items such as breads, kebabs, and Indian specialties following standard recipes. - Ensuring the correct temperature and handling of the tandoor oven for optimal cooking. - Following portion control guidelines and maintaining consistency in taste and presentation. In addition to the food preparation and cooking tasks, you will also be responsible for operational support, which includes: - Supporting senior chefs during busy operations. - Ensuring timely preparation during service hours. - Replenishing ingredients and maintaining the tandoor section throughout the shift. - Assisting in receiving, labeling, and storing kitchen supplies. Maintaining hygiene and safety standards is crucial in this role, and you will be expected to: - Keep the tandoor area and equipment clean and sanitized. - Adhere to HACCP guidelines and food safety standards at all times. - Ensure proper storage of raw and cooked items to prevent cross-contamination. Quality control is another essential aspect of your role, where you will need to: - Uphold hotel standards in food quality, taste, and presentation. - Report any equipment malfunction or ingredient shortages to the senior chef. - Assist in minimizing food wastage and controlling food costs.
