Interpret corrections provided by authors/editors. Accurately interpret email communications.Raise clarifications appropriately to the author and editor. Validate corrections before incorporating them into the text, ensuring adherence to the appropriate style guide. Consistently apply new corrections throughout the document.Responsibilities: Correction Interpretation: Accurately interpret and apply corrections, revisions, and feedback received from authors and editors, often conveyed through various formats including email communications and annotated documents. Email Communication Management: Efficiently manage and interpret email communications related to editorial changes, ensuring all instructions and nuances are understood. Clarification & Communication: Proactively raise appropriate clarifications to authors and editors regarding ambiguous instructions, conflicting corrections, or potential issues to ensure accuracy and consensus. Correction Validation: Validate all proposed corrections against the original text and relevant style guides (e.g., APA, Chicago, MLA, in-house style guide) before incorporation, ensuring adherence to established editorial standards and logical consistency. Consistency Application: Consistently apply validated corrections throughout the entire document, maintaining uniformity in style, grammar, punctuation, and formatting. Quality Assurance: Contribute to the overall quality assurance of the text by identifying and rectifying any discrepancies, errors, or inconsistencies that may have been overlooked. Documentation: Maintain clear and organized records of applied corrections and communications for audit and reference purposes. Collaboration: Work closely with authors, editors, and other team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of projects.
