CNC Machinist/Programmer

Job Title: CNC VTL Machine OperatorJob Summary

The CNC VTL Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL) CNC machines to produce precision components as per engineering drawings and quality standards. The role ensures safe operation, consistent quality, and production targets are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate CNC VTL machines for turning, boring, facing, and drilling operations
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, process sheets, and work instructions
• Load and unload components using appropriate lifting methods
• Set tools, offsets, and fixtures as per job requirements
• Perform basic program edits at the machine (offset changes, tool wear compensation)
• Conduct in-process inspection using measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, Bore Gauge, Dial Gauge, etc.)
• Maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish as per specification
• Identify and report machine, tool, or quality issues to the supervisor
• Follow safety procedures, 5S, and company quality standards
• Complete production, inspection, and shift-related documentation
• Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance

Skills & Competencies

• Hands-on experience with CNC VTL machines
• Knowledge of CNC controls (Fanuc / Siemens / Mitsubishi – as applicable)
• Understanding of cutting tools, inserts, and tool life management
• Ability to interpret GD&T basics
• Basic troubleshooting skills
• Awareness of safety and quality systems (ISO / IATF preferred)

Qualifications

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, CNC Machining, or relevant trade
• 2–6 years of experience as a CNC VTL Operator (flexible based on requirement)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
