CNC Lathe Setter/Operator

A CNC Programmer creates instructions (code) for computer-controlled machines to cut and shape materials, translating engineering drawings (blueprints/CAD models) into machine-readable G-code, ensuring precision, efficiency, and quality output by setting tools, speeds, feeds, and troubleshooting issues on the shop floor. They use CAD/CAM software, read blueprints, adjust machine settings, perform test runs, and maintain programs, bridging design and manufacturing for complex parts. Key Responsibilities

• Program Development: Write, modify, and refine programs for CNC lathes, mills, routers, etc., using CAD/CAM software.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Analyze technical drawings and models to understand part specifications, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Machine Setup & Operation: Select cutting tools, determine speeds and feeds, and adjust machine parameters for optimal production.
• Quality Control: Conduct test runs and make adjustments to ensure parts meet exact specifications.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and fix issues during the manufacturing process.
• Maintenance: Maintain tooling databases and perform routine machine upkeep.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD/CAM software, blueprint reading, G-code, CNC machine operation, and math.
• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, attention to detail, and time management.
• Education: Often a High School Diploma or GED, plus technical certifications, an Associate's Degree, or a Bachelor's in Engineering/Machining.

Work Environment

• Combines office work (programming) with time on the manufacturing floor (setup, proving out programs, troubleshooting).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹10,640.92 - ₹30,412.53 per month
