Job Title: Cloud Networking Engineer - Terraform Job location: Bangalore/Pune Job Type: Hybrid (3 days work from office) Position Type: Full-time About the Role: We are seeking a skilled Cloud Networking Engineer with experience in infrastructure automation and Terraform to join our dynamic team. This role will focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining networking solutions in cloud environments while leveraging Terraform for infrastructure-as-code (IaC) practices. You will be responsible for ensuring the scalability, security, and performance of cloud-based networks and collaborating with development teams to automate and optimize network-related tasks. Key Responsibilities: Cloud Networking Design & Implementation: Design, implement, and maintain network architectures in public cloud environments Azure. Architect and manage Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), subnets, route tables, security groups, and network access control lists (ACLs). Configure and manage cloud-native load balancers, VPNs, Direct Connect/ExpressRoute, and peering connections. Ensure network security by implementing firewalls, security policies, and network segmentation. Engineer Cloud, your role will be to help drive Cloud Architecture Runway tasks, and Cloud Engineering/Architecture reviews For Architecture Runway, our team assists Platform and Product teams with strong engineering and architecture experience to complete rapid proof of concepts and evaluations to solve challenges or improve on existing processes or tooling You will work closely with our common cloud platform team that manages our IaC product and our security and compliance teams to apply your deep cloud knowledge to advise teams on the best design considerations You will bring a wide range of Cloud Skills (CI/CD and IaC experience) acting as both an engineer and expert in cloud Engineer and enable enterprise cloud solutions within a DevOps environment Influences target state Cloud Architecture, partnering with other areas, such as Cloud Network Architects, Cloud Data Architects, Cloud Solution Architects, Cloud Security Architects, and Cloud Engineering and Development teams Accelerates the adoption of cloud solutions across business units Ensures cloud deployments result in resilient, robust, and compliant systems May oversee technology assessments, technology strategy reviews, and provide internal consulting to ensure all areas are practicing sound architecture hygiene Translates complex ideas, technology, and programs into languages to which senior management can relate Participates in the development of metrics and scorecards to influence the technology teams on industry best practices for cloud deployments Manages the vendor relationship including determining in scope and out of scope work, working through any interpretation of contract terms and monitoring/reviewing SLA adherence Performs deep dive research on missed SLAs Partners with the vendor to drive continuous improvement resulting in improved service and/or lower cost Reviews and approves any request prioritizations Ensures delivery against agreed upon SLAs and overall service delivery of operational activities Manages the vendor relationship including determining in scope and out of scope work, working through any interpretation of contract terms and monitoring/reviewing SLA adherence Performs deep dive research on missed SLAs Partners with the vendor to drive continuous improvement resulting in improved service and/or lower cost Leads in a fast-paced environment and produces high-quality work under tight deadlines Works with business stakeholders to advise them on available SaaS Services and enterprise agreements Allocates available resources to meet operating objectives Terraform Automation: Write and maintain Terraform scripts for the deployment of cloud network infrastructure. Leverage Terraform modules for reusable infrastructure components and configurations. Automate network provisioning and configuration changes in cloud environments to improve scalability and reduce manual interventions. Cloud Networking Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance of cloud network infrastructure. Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues, including latency, connectivity, and performance bottlenecks. Implement best practices for cost-effective and highly available cloud networking. Collaboration & Documentation: Work closely with DevOps, Systems, and Security teams to ensure alignment between networking infrastructure and application deployment processes. Provide detailed documentation for cloud network infrastructure, Terraform configurations, and best practices. Train and support teams in cloud networking concepts, Terraform usage, and troubleshooting. Security and Compliance: Implement cloud networking solutions with a focus on security and compliance (e.g., network segmentation, encryption, and monitoring). Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements related to cloud networking. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience (3+ years) working as a Cloud Networking Engineer or in a similar role. Strong knowledge of cloud networking concepts in Azure (VPCs, subnets, VPNs, VNETS, routing, security groups). Hands-on experience with Terraform, including writing and managing IaC configurations. Familiarity with network automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash). Experience with cloud-native services like AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, and cloud load balancing. Knowledge of network security practices, such as firewalls, network ACLs, encryption, and access control. Understanding of network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, CloudWatch, Network Insight). Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation best practices. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Preferred Skills & Qualifications: Certification in cloud networking (AWS Certified Advanced Networking, Azure Network Engineer, etc.). Basic knowledge of routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP. Experience with containerized applications and Kubernetes networking. Familiarity with service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Linkerd).
