Cloud Infrastructure Specialist - Job Description
Reporting To: Senior Manager Infrastructure & Cyber Security Services Role Summary The Cloud Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing secure, scalable, and resilient cloud environments. This role supports enterprise transformation initiatives by ensuring high availability, automation, and compliance across public, private, and hybrid cloud platforms. The specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize cloud operations and support business continuity. Key Responsibilities Cloud Architecture & Design • Design and implement cloud infrastructure solutions aligned with business and security requirements. • Develop and maintain architecture documentation, standards, and best practices. • Evaluate and recommend cloud services and technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Infrastructure Operations & Automation • Provision, configure, and manage cloud components including compute, storage, and networking. • Monitor performance, availability, and security of cloud environments. • Implement automation scripts and tools for infrastructure management and CI/CD pipelines. Migration & Transformation • Plan and execute migration of on-premise workloads to cloud platforms with minimal downtime. • Develop migration strategies and ensure data integrity throughout the process. • Support hybrid cloud integration and legacy system modernization. Security & Compliance • Enforce cloud security policies including IAM, encryption, and vulnerability management. • Conduct regular audits and ensure compliance with internal and external standards. • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to mitigate risks and respond to incidents. Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity • Design and validate disaster recovery (DR) plans for cloud-hosted services. • Implement backup and recovery solutions across cloud platforms. • Ensure alignment with BCP requirements and recovery objectives. Documentation & Reporting • Maintain documentation for configurations, procedures, and operational standards. • Generate reports on cloud performance, cost optimization, and security posture. • Present insights and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership. Preferred Qualifications • 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering or operations. • Certifications in AWS, Azure, or GCP (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer). • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible). • Experience with container platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker) and monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana). • ITIL certification or equivalent is a plus. Soft Skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Effective communication and stakeholder management. • Ability to work independently and in global delivery teams.
