Civil Project Engineer

As a Civil Project Engineer in the Oil & Gas sector in Chennai, you will be responsible for coordinating with internal engineering disciplines, reviewing and commenting on engineering drawings, preparing technical specifications, and optimizing concrete mix designs. Your role will also involve overseeing formwork methods, conducting site visits, participating in project meetings, and ensuring compliance with construction standards. Additionally, you will be expected to prepare Scope of Work (SOW) documents, monitor daily progress reports, and support planning and scheduling functions. Key Responsibilities: - Coordinate with internal engineering disciplines to gather and share project-critical information - Review and comment on engineering drawings and documents - Prepare technical specifications, BOQ/BOM/SOQ, and contract conditions - Develop and optimize concrete mix designs and bar bending schedules - Select appropriate formwork methods and oversee pre-casting strategies - Conduct site visits for brownfield and shutdown projects, prepare reports - Participate in project review meetings, vendor discussions, and team coordination sessions - Ensure proper documentation, drawing reviews, and compliance with construction standards - Prepare Scope of Work (SOW) and quality requirements for third-party inspections - Oversee final documentation and As-Built drawings - Monitor daily progress reports (DPR), identify gaps, and implement corrective actions - Support planning and scheduling functions and contribute to project strategy Qualifications Required: - B.E. Civil degree - Proficient in engineering software and general computer applications - Strong interpersonal and communication skills - Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time management abilities - Effective team player with collaborative mindset - Confident in presenting technical information and project updates - Strategic thinker with problem-solving capabilities - Familiarity with project management procedures and planning tools - Understanding of contractual terms in work orders and purchase orders - High sense of accountability and ownership In this role, you will need to be well-versed in BOQ/BOM/SOQ preparation, civil construction, concrete mix design, marine structures, planning & scheduling, project engineering, structural review, and vendor coordination.
