Civil Draughtsman

Role Overview

The Civil Draftsman will be responsible for preparing detailed civil and structural drawings, assisting project teams with technical documentation, and ensuring drawings meet project specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate AutoCAD drawings and layouts for civil, structural, and related projects according to the engineers/sketching specifications.
• Modify and update drawings based on comments from engineering, consultants, or site feedback.
• Ensure timely submission of drawings as per project schedules and requirements.
• Maintain organized documentation and version control of all drawings.
• Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and site staff to resolve drawing-related queries.
• Assist in preparing as-built drawings upon project/shop completion.
• Support preparation of Bill of Quantities (BOQ), material take-offs, and basic measurement sheets as needed.
• Ensure compliance with company and client drafting standards and procedures.
• Maintain drawing records, logs, and associated documentation for audits and handover.

Qualifications & Experience

• ITI/Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• 25 years of experience in drafting (preferably in industrial/infra/plant projects).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and related drawing/drafting software.
• Good understanding of civil engineering drawings, standards, and symbols.
• Ability to interpret architectural and structural sketches and transfer them accurately to detailed drawings.
• Strong documentation and file management skills.
• Should be willing to work on third-party/contractual payroll and travel to sites if required.
