Civil Designer

Prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings and layouts for civil engineering projects using AutoCAD or similar CAD software. Responsibilities:
Drawing Production:Prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings, layouts, and models for civil engineering projects, including but not limited to: site plans, grading plans, utility layouts (water, sewer, storm drainage), road profiles and cross-sections, erosion and sediment control plans, and general civil details.Utilize AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, or other similar CAD software effectively to produce high-quality, accurate, and constructible drawings.Develop and maintain drawing standards, layers, blocks, and templates to ensure consistency and efficiency across projects.Design Support:Assist civil engineers in the development of conceptual designs, preliminary designs, and final designs.Perform calculations and analyses as required to support design decisions (e.g., cut/fill volumes, pipe sizing, slope stability).Incorporate survey data, geotechnical reports, and other relevant information into designs.Revise drawings based on engineer markups, client feedback, and site conditions.Collaboration and Coordination:Collaborate closely with civil engineers, project managers, surveyors, and other disciplines (e.g., structural, architectural, MEP) to integrate civil designs with overall project requirements.Participate in design review meetings and provide technical input.Communicate effectively with team members to resolve design conflicts and ensure project alignment.Quality Assurance & Compliance:Ensure all drawings and designs comply with relevant industry standards, local codes, regulations (e.g., building codes, zoning ordinances, environmental regulations), and project specifications.Perform self-checks and quality control reviews of drawings to identify and correct errors or omissions.Maintain organized project files, drawing registers, and design documentation.Software Proficiency & Development:Stay updated with the latest versions of CAD software and design tools.Actively seek opportunities for continuous professional development in civil design and related technologies.
