The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with safety-critical design methodologies and a thorough understanding of DO-254, RTCA/DO-160, and MIL-STD requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop reliable analog and digital circuits for aerospace applications, including signal processing, power regulation, and microcontroller integration.
Create and manage schematics, PCB layouts, and BOMs using aerospace-approved ECAD tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Mentor Graphics, Zuken).
Ensure all designs meet applicable aerospace standards (e.g., DO-254, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810, RTCA/DO-160).
Conduct design simulations (signal integrity, power integrity, thermal analysis) to ensure performance under extreme conditions.
Perform Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) reviews aligned with aerospace production environments.
Collaborate with systems, mechanical, and firmware teams to ensure cohesive hardware integration.
Support failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) and risk assessments for electronic designs.
Lead design reviews, documentation, and traceability per aerospace certification processes.
Interface with certification authorities and support documentation for airworthiness and compliance.
Oversee prototype development, bring-up, and qualification testing, including EMI/EMC, thermal cycling, and vibration testing.
Qualifications:
Bachelor s or Master s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
0 3 years of experience in circuit design and PCB development in aerospace, defense, or other safety-critical industries.
Proficient in PCB CAD tools and version control systems.
Deep knowledge of DO-254, RTCA/DO-160, MIL-STD-810, and IPC Class 3/3A standards.
Strong understanding of high-reliability design practices, redundancy, derating, and component traceability.
Experience with high-speed, power, and mixed-signal board design.
Familiar with configuration management, requirements traceability, and technical documentation for certification.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in safety-critical environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with radiation-hardened or space-qualified components.
Familiarity with thermal analysis tools and techniques.
Knowledge of PLM systems (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter) and aerospace documentation workflows.
Hands-on experience with hardware verification, board bring-up, and lab testing.
Background in defense, avionics, space systems, or UAV electronics is a strong plus.
