Job Title : Senior Assistant Manager, Informal Sector Inclusion About Chintan: Chintan is a non-profit Circular Society Do-Tank that improves the lives, livelihoods and leadership of the people who contribute the least to environmental pollution and climate change while combating the excessive and inequitable consumption that causes it. Chintan works to identify intersectional needs and amplify relevant voices. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Assistant Manager, Informal Sector Inclusion. The ideal candidate will be responsible for environmental & social initiatives across geographies. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, training skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders. Key Responsibilities : ● Lead Chintan’s work with and around waste workers in the informal and semi-formal sector on the ground and via enabling storytelling ● Represent Chintan in various forums, be able to develop, nurture and maintain relationships with state and non-state actors. ● To stay informed about changes and good practices globally in the sector and widely in the social and environmental sector, nurture a team, and manage a project with strict timelines and SOPs. ● To collaborate with government bodies, Urban Local Bodies, net works, non-government bodies, RWAs, schools and other stakeholders to build partnerships and for strategic engagement. ● To identify training needs and enable existing personnel to deliver them ● To contribute to the development of high-quality knowledge products, presentations, and communication material that strengthens leadership and inclusion narratives. ● To oversee documentation of cases and provide information for case studies . ● To ensure strong coordination with Chintan’s communications team for strong storytelling to build a constituency of support ● To ensure project data is accurate, captured on time and available for monitoring and impact. ● To undertake strategic engagement via networks, policy forums and other means to meet the goals of the initiative. Qualifications : • A bachelor’s degree is essential, Master’s degree is an advantage in any subject • At least 4-5 years of p rior experience in areas related to the social sector, including at the grassroots. • Experience of working with women, including the informal sector, is a significant advantage • At least two years of proven experience in a leadership role • A broad understanding of the policy landscape related to the social sector or the environmental sector is a plus Essential Skills Required • Excellent Hindi and English written, spoken and reading skills. • Strong networking and relationship-building skills. • Self-motivated & driven with the a bility to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment. • Familiarity with the Delhi NCR administrative landscape is a plus. • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word with experience in basic data analysis Location : Delhi (with travel across India as required) Benefits : Competitive salary and professional development opportunities. The Lead will play a critical role in enabling textile segregation, recovery, thrifting, and upcycling as part of a larger circular economy initiative. The role combines sales, outreach, coordination, and overseeing communication design. The sales will go to helping street dogs via organizations. Key Responsibilities: Identify and connect with potential buyers and partners — such as stalls in winter markets, offices, malls etc. as well as via WA groups and Chintan’s own lists. Support planning and execution of winter and Christmas stalls. Set up and manage at least three stalls by December 2025, including logistics, display, and on-site coordination. Work with an identified designer/individual to develop collaterals for Instagram and digital circulation. Coordinate to reach out to vets, dog lovers, and welfare organizations to build partnerships. Develop a presentation/PowerPoint summarizing the work, learnings, and impact. Facilitate the sale of products and donation of proceeds to groups supporting street dogs.
