Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Background:

Test engineer will work on different projects under Sustainable Polymers Technology Platform. 

He/she will be responsible for data generation through day-to-day material testing in the lab.

Mandatory Skills

  • B. Tech./M. Tech. degree in Chemical/Polymer related technical discipline
  • Shall have experience in working research and lab environment.
  • Shall have exposure to chemical and mechanical testing, and data analysis.
  • Should be proficient in MS Excel to collect data, plot and analyse results.
  • Should be well versed in making documents and report using MS Word and Power Point presentation
  • Shall be aware of lab safety protocols.

ExperienceFresher (M. Tech.) or 1 to 2 years (B. Tech.)

Key Responsibilities

  • Shall align with project leads to understand testing requirement.
  • Operate and perform the chemical and mechanical tests as per the project needs, and record observations/data
  • Analyse the data, prepare the test report, and discuss with project lead.
  • Shall do literature survey and prepare an inference.
  • Able to work independently on projects and work assignments
  • Should involve in inventory counts of spares & available consumables.
  • Maintain the experimental facilities in the Polymer Lab, take proactive actions to get the equipment up and running.

Optional Skills

  • Exposure to polymer testing techniques (tensile, impact testing)
  • Exposure to polymer characterization techniques (FTIR, TGA)
  • Exposure to polymer processing techniques (Compression molding)
