Chapter Lead Functional Testing

Role Overview: As a Chapter Lead for Functional Testing at Astellas, you will be responsible for leading a team of testing analysts in designing, implementing, and overseeing quality assurance and testing protocols for the company's products. Your role will involve ensuring that the products meet industry and company standards by combining business acumen, technical understanding, and effective communication with both business stakeholders and technical teams. You will play a key role in implementing innovative solutions and working with cutting-edge technologies in the field of testing. Key Responsibilities: - Lead a team of functional test analysts, driving excellence in test strategy, execution, and quality assurance across agile value teams. - Standardize testing practices, upskill talent, manage capacity, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and automation. - Develop and maintain test strategies and plans aligned with sprint goals and project objectives. - Create detailed test cases and scripts based on user stories and acceptance criteria. - Execute manual and automated tests during sprints to ensure continuous integration and deployment readiness. - Serve as a quality gatekeeper, ensuring all deliverables meet required standards before deployment. - Identify, log, and track defects, working closely with the development team for quick resolutions. - Implement and manage testing tools and frameworks to support effective testing and results reporting. - Contribute to enhancing automated testing practices and tools. - Suggest improvements in retrospective meetings to make the development process more efficient. - Stay updated with new testing tools, methodologies, and best practices in Agile testing. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field. - Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in testing applications at a life science company. - Proven experience as a Testing Lead or similar role. - Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes. - Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases. - Hands-on experience with white box and black box testing. - Experience with automated testing tools. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills. - Strong communication and teamwork skills. - Experience with performance and/or security testing. - Experience testing external facing websites and conducting end-to-end testing.
