Cataract Surgeon

Dr.Agarwal's Eye Hospital Ltd is looking for Cataract Surgeon to join our dynamic team and embark on a rewarding career journey.

• Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough evaluations of patients with cataracts to determine the severity of the condition and assess their overall eye health
• Surgical Planning: Develop surgical plans tailored to each patient's specific needs, taking into account factors such as the type of cataract, visual acuity, and other ocular conditions
• Surgical Procedure: Perform cataract surgery, which typically involves making small incisions in the eye, breaking up the cloudy lens using techniques like phacoemulsification, and implanting an artificial IOL
• Intraoperative Decision-Making: Make critical decisions during surgery, such as selecting the appropriate IOL and ensuring the precise removal of the cataract
• Postoperative Care: Provide postoperative care, including monitoring patients for complications, prescribing medications, and educating them on post-surgery precautions
• Collaborative Care: Work closely with optometrists and other eye care professionals to ensure coordinated care for patients
• Continuous Education: Stay updated on the latest advancements in cataract surgery techniques, technology, and medical guidelines
• Patient Communication: Explain the surgical process, potential risks, benefits, and expected outcomes to patients and their families

Qualifications:

• Medical Degree: Completion of a medical degree (MD or DO) is a fundamental requirement for becoming a cataract surgeon
• Residency: After completing medical school, ophthalmologists typically undertake a residency in ophthalmology to receive specialized training in eye care and surgery
• Licensure: Cataract surgeons must be licensed to practice medicine and perform surgery in their respective jurisdictions
• Board Certification: Many cataract surgeons obtain board certification in ophthalmology, which signifies a high level of expertise and commitment to the field
