Diagnose and treat heart and cardiovascular system disorders such as coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, and heart failure.
Conduct patient evaluations, including history-taking, physical exams, and diagnostic tests (ECG, echocardiography, stress tests, etc.).
Interpret diagnostic results to plan appropriate treatment or interventions.
Perform and supervise procedures like angiography, angioplasty, pacemaker/ICD insertion, and catheterisations (if an interventional cardiologist).
Prescribe medications and lifestyle modifications for the prevention and management of cardiac diseases.
Provide emergency care for acute cardiac events such as myocardial infarction or cardiac arrest.
Monitor and manage chronic heart conditions, ensuring long-term follow-up and rehabilitation.
Collaborate with surgeons, intensivists, and other specialists for comprehensive patient care.
Educate patients and families on cardiac health, risk factor management, and preventive care.
Participate in academic, training, and research activities.
