Role Overview: As an experienced system engineer at HARMAN Digital Transformation Solutions (DTS), you will be responsible for enabling advanced camera capabilities for higher performance and quality on Mobile platforms. Your role will involve planning, designing, developing, and productizing camera system solutions. Key Responsibilities: - Contribute to the innovative and impactful development of Samsung devices in an end-to-end Android framework feature design, development, and commercialization capacity - Demonstrate a strong understanding of Android framework/services, Android architecture, Linux multimedia framework (V4L2), image formats, buffer management, and have hands-on experience with the latest Android versions - Utilize programming skills in Core Java/C/C++, object-oriented programming in Java, design patterns, UML, and have experience with code versioning/IDE tools such as P4, Git, Android Studio - Apply Android camera framework knowledge for scenarios like launch, preview, capture, recording, and possess excellent debugging skills including crash analysis, memory analysis, race conditions, and memory corruption - Actively participate in design reviews, feature design, developments, and code reviews, with an added advantage of XR application development experience/exposure - Have good communication and presentation skills, along with additional skill set in camera technology knowledge (Computation Photography, Vision & Image Processing) Qualifications Required: - Excellent C/C++ skills with a strong knowledge of data structures & algorithms - Experience in Android Kernel, Camera HAL & Camera Framework development, Linux device driver/kernel module development for camera sensors and peripherals - System engineering and algorithm design expertise for camera use cases in mobile phones - Hands-on development experience in a multi-threaded and multi-core environment, along with excellent debugging skills - Knowledge of Google Compliance Test suites and ensuring compliance with changes in Kernel, HAL & framework - Bonus points for a Bachelor's degree and experience in camera app development Company Details: HARMAN offers a flexible work environment, employee discounts on Harman and Samsung products, extensive training opportunities through HARMAN University, competitive wellness benefits, tuition reimbursement, employee recognition and rewards program, and an inclusive and diverse work culture that encourages professional and personal development.
