Job Description

As a highly skilled KDB+/q Developer, you will play a crucial role in the front-office technology team, specifically supporting algorithmic trading. Your primary focus will involve designing, developing, and optimizing time-series analytics systems tailored for high-frequency trading (HFT) and electronic execution strategies. Collaboration with quants, traders, and technologists will be essential to deliver robust, low-latency solutions for analyzing and visualizing market microstructure data, execution quality, and strategy performance. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain KDB+/q-based data capture, analytics, and visualization platforms. - Optimize time-series data queries and real-time analytics pipelines to enhance performance and scalability. - Collaborate with quantitative researchers and algo developers to produce high-performance metrics and diagnostic tools. - Integrate KDB systems with market data feeds, order management systems, and trading platforms. - Construct dashboards and monitoring tools to track algorithm performance and market behavior. - Manage large-scale tick data stores, ensuring data hygiene, normalization, and lifecycle management. - Partner with DevOps and Infrastructure teams to guarantee system reliability and uptime. Qualifications Required: - 3+ years of professional experience in developing with KDB+/q within a financial or trading environment. - Sound understanding of market data including Level 1/2, order book dynamics, trades, and quotes. - Familiarity with algorithmic trading concepts such as VWAP, TWAP, arrival price, slippage, and market impact. - Strong background in time-series data structures, analytics, and performance tuning. - Proficiency in integrating KDB with other languages/systems like Python, Java, Kafka, and REST APIs. - Excellent problem-solving abilities with a proactive, detail-oriented approach. - Effective communication skills enabling collaboration across business and technical teams.
