Summary:As the Software Architect for our expense product, you will lead the design and development of scalable, cloud-based architectures that power our core business applications. You will work closely with product and engineering teams to translate business needs into innovative technical solutions, while ensuring the systems performance, reliability, and future-proofing. This role requires a strong understanding of finance, accounting or expense domains, cloud technologies, and enterprise architecture, with a focus on delivering high-quality, customer-centric solutions. You will also provide leadership in driving technical excellence and designing target state for a simplified architecture that can scale globally.
Roles & Responsibilities:Key accountabilities and decision ownership:Solution Design and Innovation:Translate commercial priorities and evolving customer needs into scalable, future-proof architectures that drive the success of time and mobile offerings in a finance solution. Stay ahead of industry trends by incorporating emerging technologies such as AI, automation, and cloud-native architectures.Technical Leadership:Develop and maintain comprehensive technical plans aligned with both short-term product delivery and long-term architecture strategy. Ensure all solutions follow best practices for performance, scalability, and security.Ownership of Architecture and Governance:Take full responsibility for end-to-end solution design, making critical decisions around technology stack, architecture patterns, and governance. Ensure alignment with the broader enterprise architecture standards and digital transformation goals.Customer-Centric Mindset:Drive a deep customer empathy and leverage insights to build flexible, mobile-first architectures. Ensure that customer experience, performance, and usability are prioritized at every stage of the design and development process.Technical Expertise and Support:Provide tier-3 technical support and expertise, resolving complex technical issues in your domain. Continuously enhance your technical skills and expertise to keep pace with evolving technologies and innovations.Team Collaboration and Leadership:Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and business teams, fostering a collaborative environment that emphasizes accountability, innovation, and delivering on key commitments. Continuously seek opportunities for personal growth and the improvement of your architectural approaches.Skills, know-how and experience:Domain Expertise:Strong knowledge of categorization services (expense or bank transactions), lifecycle management, mobile experiences and related business processes, ensuring alignment of the architecture with the functional needs of the system.SaaS and Multi-Platform Development:Proven experience in designing and implementing SaaS-based solutions. Proficiency in multiple programming languages, including Java and python, with a deep understanding of their use in enterprise environments.Leadership:Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams, manage stakeholders, and drive large-scale architectural initiatives. Experience in mentoring and guiding engineers through complex technical challenges.Communication and Articulation:Excellent communication skills, capable of clearly conveying architectural vision and technical concepts to a variety of audiencesranging from developers to business stakeholdersensuring understanding at all levels.Operations Architecture Expertise:Proven experience in operations architecture, ensuring systems stability, scalability, and performance across multiple cloud environments.Large Enterprise Systems:Solid understanding of the intricacies of large-scale enterprise systems, including high-volume transaction environments, complex integrations, and distributed architectures.Database Skills:

Proficiency with relational databases such as Postgres, alongside experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, ) to design solutions that optimize data access and performance across different use cases.
Professional & Technical Skills:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.8+ years of experience in software architecture, with a focus on accounting, finance or expense and SaaS solutions.Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern architecture patterns (microservices, serverless).Proficiency in Java, Python and other relevant programming languages.Strong database skills, with experience in both relational (Postgres) and NoSQL databases.Proficiency with pub/sub systems and caching methodologies is a mustExperience with Angular 1 and/or React is a plusAPI driven design with experience in micro service/domain services is requiredProven track record in leading large-scale enterprise projects and digital transformation initiatives.Certifications in cloud architecture, DevOps, or database management are a plus.Key performance indicators:(3-5 Max)Turn customer and product problems into proven technical solutions that enable commercial goals and solves customer problemsClarity and decisions on the technical solutionComply with project plans and industry standardsUpdate job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools & techniquesComply with project plans and industry standardsCode Coverage provided on the code developed
Additional Information:- The candidate should have minimum 12 years of experience in Tech Solution Architecture.- This position is based at our Bengaluru office.- A 15 years full time education is required. Qualification
