Business Analyst - General Insurance

Role Overview: You will be joining an innovative entity in the insurance industry as a Business Analyst specializing in General Insurance. Your primary focus will be on the Motor or Fire/Marine Line of Business (LOB) with exposure to data. As part of the Underwriting/Claims/Analytics function, you will play a crucial role in analyzing and interpreting data to drive business decisions. Your expertise in Motor or Fire & Marine Cargo, along with a basic understanding of Marine Hull, Engineering, Liability, Surety, and other Miscellaneous Classes of General Insurance, will be essential for this role. Key Responsibilities: - Demonstrate ethical judgement by recognizing the ethical implications of data usage, storage, and analysis, particularly concerning privacy and security. - Utilize excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey findings, both written and orally, to various stakeholders. - Apply problem-solving skills with a systematic and logical approach to come up with data-driven solutions for business challenges. - Employ critical thinking to approach problems logically and make informed decisions based on data analysis. - Maintain attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and identify anomalies or errors. - Collaborate with other departments or teams, understand their needs, and provide relevant support to enhance teamwork. - Actively participate in expanding the reach of products by engaging with Business Acumen as a Key Account Manager. Qualifications Required: - Engineering graduates - 3 to 5 years of experience in Motor or Fire/Marine LOB within the functions of Underwriting/Claims/Analytics - Proficiency in data management tools such as Excel, SQL (intermediary to advance level), and exposure to data visualization mechanisms - Experience in product conceptualization, development, and launching - Understanding of Databases, APIs, and Business - Exposure to Project Management tools/skills and documentation - Knowledge of Modeling techniques & tools (R, Python, etc.) would be a plus - Strong follow-up and coordination skills Additional Details: No additional details about the company were provided in the job description.,
