About the Role: Credit+BD As an Investment Associate at Build Capital, you will play a pivotal role in both originating new real estate financing opportunities and evaluating them for strategic deployment. This role combines deal sourcing, developer engagement, credit analysis, structuring, due diligence, and portfolio monitoring. You will work closely with the founding team and cross-functional stakeholders—including legal, risk, credit, and operations—to take deals from initial engagement to final disbursal and beyond. Deal Origination & Developer Engagement [kv1] Identify and source new business opportunities in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) through meetings, networks, referrals, and events. Engage directly with real estate developers, CFOs, and finance teams to understand funding needs. Build a strong pipeline of qualified leads aligned with Build Capital’s credit and sector focus. Maintain updated MIS and ensure effective data management of all opportunities. 2. Investment Evaluation & Credit Analysis Analyze financial statements, feasibility reports, property documentation, and credit histories. Build financial models to assess viability, repayment capacity, and risk exposure. Prepare credit memos and presentations for internal investment committees. Assess promoter background, past loan performance, and corporate structure. Handle credit assessment for wholesale business credit transactions. 3. Deal Structuring & Due Diligence Structure investment terms, covenants, and security packages. Coordinate with legal, technical, and financial diligence partners. Negotiate commercial terms with developers and stakeholders. Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. 4. Documentation & Execution Oversee documentation post-approval, including sanction letters and legal agreements. Coordinate with internal teams (legal, compliance, risk, operations) for timely closure. 5. Portfolio Monitoring & Risk Management Track loan performance, repayment, and covenant compliance.
