Role & responsibilities Key Responsibilities: 1. Operation & Maintenance: Monitor and maintain electrical systems of the BTG, including generators, exciters, transformers, switchgear, and protection relays. Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective actions to ensure equipment reliability. Troubleshoot electrical faults and implement timely solutions to minimize downtime. 2. Generator & Excitation System Management: Oversee the operation and maintenance of generators, excitation systems, and voltage regulators. Perform generator performance tests, insulation resistance tests, and other diagnostic checks. Ensure synchronization of generators with the grid and monitor load sharing. 3. Protection & Control Systems: Maintain and test protection relays (differential, overcurrent, earth fault, etc.) and control systems. Ensure proper functioning of circuit breakers, busbars, and other switchgear components. Review and update protection settings as per grid requirements. 4. Turbine & Boiler Electrical Systems: Maintain electrical drives, motors, and control systems for turbines, fans, pumps, and boiler auxiliaries. Troubleshoot issues in motor control centers (MCCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), and soft starters. 5. Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards (NFPA, IEEE, IEC, etc.) and plant SOPs. Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures for electrical work. Participate in safety audits and incident investigations. 6. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain logs, maintenance records, and equipment history for electrical systems. Prepare reports on equipment performance, failures, and corrective actions. Update electrical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
