Book Layout & Design Specialist

You will be responsible for collaborating with the content and illustrations team to design and format books for print and digital publishing. Your role will involve creating visually consistent and professional layouts, ensuring typography, spacing, and placement of text and images are visually appealing. It will be important to maintain alignment with Safety Troop's brand style and target audience. You will also need to prepare files for print (PDF, InDesign package, etc.) and digital formats (ePub, Kindle, etc.), as well as suggest creative improvements for cover and interior design when required. Additionally, working closely with editors, illustrators, and project leads to ensure accuracy and quality is crucial. To qualify for this role, you should have proven experience as a Book Designer / Layout Designer / Graphic Designer in publishing or similar fields. Proficiency in Adobe InDesign (essential), Photoshop, and Illustrator is required. A strong knowledge of typesetting, typography, and page layout design principles will be beneficial. Familiarity with preparing books for print and eBook formats, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as in collaboration are essential. A creative mindset with the ability to balance design aesthetics and readability is also important. - Proven experience as a Book Designer / Layout Designer / Graphic Designer in publishing or similar fields. - Proficiency in Adobe InDesign (essential), Photoshop, and Illustrator. - Strong knowledge of typesetting, typography, and page layout design principles. - Familiarity with preparing books for print and eBook formats. - Attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as in collaboration. - Creative mindset with the ability to balance design aesthetics and readability. Preferred qualifications include prior experience in educational, psychology, or children's book design, knowledge of accessibility standards in publishing, and experience working with multilingual text (optional).,
