Biw Design Engineer

Hiring for One of Our Client

Location: Bengaluru

Diploma / Bachelors degree in mechanical or production engineering

: 3 - 6 years of relevant experience

Design CAD softwares like CATIA V5 / SOLIDWORKS / AUTOCAD / (PROCESS SIMULATE / ROBOT STUDIO : added advantage)

Skills and Abilities

• Proven experience in design of BIW fixtures such as Spot-Welding jigs, Arc welding

fixtures, Roller hemming fixtures etc. are preferable.

• Experience in 3D finish, 2D detailing and quality check, BOM creation and Documentation.

• Work on Concept Designs with unit building, Weld study, Gun placement, layout study,

process study etc.

•  Awareness of Tier-1/OEM Design standards

•  Knowledge of tolerances and materials. Sound ability to understand and use GD&T

•  Knowledge and understanding of Automotive manufacturing processes.

•  Exposure to Welding Lines Process & Layout (Spot Welding, ARC welding, SPR/FDS

Joining)

•  Understanding of standard BOP selection and familiarity in pneumatics, sensors, and

other integration elements

•  Good written & oral communication skills

•  Possess proactive approach, good analytical, presentation and problem solving and

skills.

•  Good team player

Roles and Responsibilities

• Process Engineering with Layout concept and cycle time creation 

• Develop concepts, 3D finish and 2D detailing of BIW fixtures

• Performs basic engineering calculations to verify design integrity

• Perform quality checks

• Coordination with 3 rd Party vendors (Design house, Manufacturing, Bought-out parts

suppliers etc)

• Support I&C team at customer sites anywhere in India during site execution and prove-

out.

• Travel & deputation to customer sites is expected.
