Job Title:
Location:
Join a Team Engineering the Future of Construction: Modular Building Technology (MBT)
About Us:
The Opportunity: Bridging Digital Design with Factory Reality.
We are seeking a highly technical and innovative Senior BIM MEP Engineer to translate complex engineering designs into precise, manufacturable digital assets. You will sit at the intersection of MEP engineering, software automation, and factory production.
Your mission is twofold:
- Define the digital workflow for live modular projects, ensuring zero-clash models and 100% accurate Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Revolutionise how we work by developing Revit API tools to automate repetitive tasks and creating "IKEA-style" visual assembly drawings that make onsite installation foolproof.
Key Responsibilities
1. Core BIM Production & Live Projects (The Engine Room)
LOD 400 Modelling:
Lead the creation of highly detailed, constructible BIM MEP models (Electrical, HVAC, PHE, Fire Fighting) specifically tailored for tight modular constraints and factory prefabrication.Precise BOM Generation:
Utilise Revit schedules to generate accurate, real-time Bills of Materials directly from the model for procurement and factory kitting, ensuring zero wastage.Clash Coordination:
Run rigorous clash detection (Navisworks) between MEP systems and structural modular frames, resolving issues proactively before they hit the factory floor.
2. Automation & Computational BIM (The Accelerator)
Revit API & Dynamo:
Drive efficiency by developing custom Revit plugins (C#) or Dynamo scripts to automate repetitive tasks such as sheet setup, tagging, parameter management, and complex BOM extraction. (This is a critical requirement).
Parametric Family Creation:
Develop a robust library of smart, highly parametric Revit families tailored to modular repetition, enabling rapid configuration of standard module variants.
3. The "IKEA Drawing" Initiative (The Visual Communicator)
Intuitive Assembly Drawings:
Spearhead the transition from traditional, cluttered 2D engineering plans to highly visual, intuitive assembly guides.Visual Communication:
Use exploded 3D views, colour-coded isometric details, and step-by-step sequences within Revit to ensure drawings are immediately understandable by factory workers and site assemblers with minimal technical training (mistake-proofing).
4. Collaboration & Standards
Cross-Functional Integration:
Work intensely with the Senior MEP Design team to interpret calculations and designs, and with the Manufacturing team to ensure models reflect factory tooling realities.BIM Standards:
Establish and enforce BIM execution plans, templates, and standards optimised for modular construction workflows.
Qualifications & Core Values Alignment
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent Architecture/Construction technology degree.Experience:
5+ years of deep experience in BIM MEP coordination. Experience in modular construction, prefabrication, or DfMA (Design for Manufacture and Assembly) is highly preferred.Technical Mastery (Must Haves):
- Expert-level proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP.
Proven experience with Computational BIM tools: Dynamo and/or Revit API (C# / Python). You must be able to demonstrate tools you have built to automate workflows.
- Proficiency in Navisworks for clash detection.
The "Eye" for Detail:
A strong portfolio demonstrating the ability to create clear, beautiful, and non-traditional 3D technical documentation (the "IKEA" style).Values Alignment:
Must be driven by our Core Values, embracing the belief that Scale is Magic
and possessing the mindset that Nothing is someone elses problem
. A strong commitment to our MBT Focus
is essential.
