BI Engineer

You will be responsible for data extraction and transformation, including extracting data from Databricks and Snowflake using appropriate connectors and APIs. You will transform raw data into a format suitable for Qlik applications, ensuring data quality and consistency. Implementing ETL processes to harmonize data across platforms will also be part of your role. In terms of Qlik application development, you will design and develop Qlik applications, dashboards, and visualizations. Creating data models within Qlik to optimize performance and usability will be crucial. You will collaborate with business users to understand requirements and translate them into effective Qlik solutions. Integration with Databricks and Snowflake is essential, requiring you to establish seamless connections between Qlik and Databricks/Snowflake. Leveraging APIs, SQL queries, and data pipelines to fetch relevant data and ensuring data consistency and accuracy during integration will be key tasks. Performance optimization will also fall under your responsibilities, where you will monitor and fine-tune Qlik applications for optimal performance. Identifying bottlenecks, optimizing data loading, and enhancing query response times will be part of your duties. Data governance is another area you will handle, including implementing access controls, data lineage, and security measures. Ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations will be important. Collaboration and documentation are crucial aspects as well, requiring you to work closely with cross-functional teams, document data integration processes, data flows, and best practices. To qualify for this role, you should have proven experience as a software developer with exposure to Qlik. Strong proficiency in SQL for querying Databricks and Snowflake is necessary. Familiarity with ETL concepts and data modeling, experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and collaboration abilities are also required. This position is at the IC3 career level and may be ideal for candidates with background knowledge around Finance, Investment Banking, Fixed Income, or OCIO Business.
