BI Architect – Power BI

Key Responsibilities:

Define the end-to-end Power BI and Fabric architecture for multi-tenant, customer-facing

reporting.

Design and recommend the appropriate licensing model (F-SKUs, PPU, Embedded) based on

business use cases and cost implications.

Architect workspace strategies, dataset isolation (RLS vs. per-tenant), and semantic models for

efficient performance and scalability.

Enable self-service reporting capability for external customer users using Power BI APIS + shared

datasets.

Guide integration of authentication & authorization mechanisms using Azure AD B2B, B2C, or

federated IdPs (e.g., Salesforce).

Define and oversee implementation of embedding strategies into React-based web applications.

Implement governance frameworks including audit logging, monitoring, and capacity

management.

Collaborate with product, engineering, and data teams to define dataflows, pipelines, and

refresh schedules.

Support the migration plan from Power BI Embedded (A4) to Microsoft Fabric F-SKUs with

minimal disruption.

Guide automation for provisioning workspaces, access, datasets using Power BI REST APIs or

DevOps pipelines.

Required Skills & Experience

10+ years of experience in BI and analytics architecture

5+ years hands-on experience with Power BI Service, Power BI Desktop, and DAX modeling

Deep knowledge of Power BI licensing models: Embedded, Premium, PPU, Fabric

Experience designing multi-tenant BI solutions using workspace and dataset isolation

Expertise in Microsoft Fabric, including capacity management

Strong grasp of Azure AD B2B/B2C, SAML, OIDC, and external IdP integration

Knowledge of Row-Level Security (RLS), incremental refresh, shared datasets, and paginated

reports
