Battery Mechanical Architect

Role Overview: As a Battery Mechanical Architect at Ather, you will be responsible for ideating and delivering proof of concept designs for the mechanical architecture of the battery pack. You will oversee the design quality of component designs during development, ensuring mechanical integration of all components in the pack and with the production line. Additionally, you will generate innovative battery designs, develop test plans, author design guides, perform tolerance stacks, manage risks, and ensure compliance with design maturity models and product development systems. Key Responsibilities: - Ideate and deliver proof of concept designs for the mechanical architecture of the battery pack - Oversee design quality of component designs during development - Manage physical and functional interfaces across all components of the battery and with the production line - Generate concepts for innovative battery designs and develop test plans - Author design guides for battery design - Perform preliminary FMEAs and concept reviews to ensure confidence in concepts - Manage technical attributes of the battery such as weight, thermals, and life - Review validation results for compliance with requirements - Work with other functional engineering groups to agree on preliminary interfaces - Represent team in design reviews and battery engineering in meetings with the manufacturing engineering team - Review drawings and models for prototype releases - Work with technicians and build managers in the battery lab to deliver prototype and pre-production batteries - Approve batteries for proto and pre-production use - Check component drawings for release Qualifications Required: - Experience in Lithium Ion battery design and development - Design of electromechanical components and DFx of electromechanical parts - Knowledge of battery manufacturing processes and relevant standards - B.Tech/B.E/M.Tech/M.E. or equivalent with specialization in Mechanical Engineering/Mechatronics/Machine Design - 4-10 years of relevant experience with at least 3 years in Lithium ion battery design,
